• Do our panties make a difference to the mindset?

Time to tidy up the lingerie draw? I did mine the other day, the old, worn, black & black undies are now gone in the bin. Time for a shopping trip to get new boy short panties with lace, and BRIGHT colours.

Like the air we breathe and the water we drink, underwear is a part of life so ubiquitous that it often goes unnoticed. Don’t let another year pass being unsexy and wearing “Bridget Jones panties” every day— especially considering 99 percent of you are wearing them right now. And if not, good on you!

Colours influence our day from when we start getting dressed from our underwear to what we see when we look in the mirror. Have you discovered that when you are feeling down and tired you are drawn to wear the dark colours and that outfit we don’t like?  When a woman has her periods and feeling blue why do we always wear the frumpy outfit that makes us feel 10 times worst. This is when we add COLOUR to what we are wearing and even down to the underwear. What type of day do you want? Wear the colour to inspire you!

    RED. Physical
Positive: Physical courage, strength, warmth, energy, basic survival, ‘fight or flight’, stimulation, masculinity, excitement.
Negative: Defiance, aggression, visual impact, strain.

    BLUE. Intellectual.
Positive: Intelligence, communication, trust, efficiency, serenity, duty, logic, coolness, reflection, calm.
Negative: Coldness, aloofness, lack of emotion, unfriendliness.

    YELLOW. Emotional
Positive: Optimism, confidence, self-esteem, extraversion, emotional strength, friendliness, creativity.
Negative: Irrationality, fear, emotional fragility, depression, anxiety, suicide.

    GREEN. Balance
Positive: Harmony, balance, refreshment, universal love, rest, restoration, reassurance, environmental awareness, equilibrium, peace.
    Negative: Boredom, stagnation, blandness, enervation.

    VIOLET. Spiritual
Positive: Spiritual awareness, containment, vision, luxury, authenticity, truth, quality.
    Negative: Introversion, decadence, suppression, inferiority.

Positive: Physical comfort, food, warmth, security, sensuality, passion, abundance, fun.
    Negative: Deprivation, frustration, frivolity, immaturity.

Positive: Physical tranquillity, nurture, warmth, femininity, love, sexuality, survival of the species.
Negative: Inhibition, emotional claustrophobia, emasculation, physical weakness.

Positive: Sophistication, glamour, security, emotional safety, efficiency, substance.
    Negative: Oppression, coldness, menace, heaviness.

Let’s talk about the underwear! I can see you cringing as you read this. NO one sees my underwear so why worry about it! It is not WHO sees your underwear it is HOW it makes you feel when you wear that nice matching underwear when you are feeling so BLUE!

Panties come in all shapes and styles: G- strings, boy pants, high cut thigh, frilly, lace, lace trim, high wasted cheeky, hipsters, bikini and many more.

Let’s imagine you having date No 1, 2 or 3 with that hot man, and you are hoping TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT, tell me what underwear will you wear?

Come on be honest with me, you would wear the matching bra and panties or go out and buy new ones for the date.

We all know of the movie “Bridget Jones” and how she has the beige big girl panties on. Well that is OK they don’t have to be beige what about RED or YELLOW or PINK.

Ladies I feel it is time to start wearing sexy underwear every day.

Here is the challenge for the next 21 days every day wear that sexy under wear and also throw out that old and ugly robe, buy a sexy one in your favourite colour.

What style of Panties do you like?

Thongs: Flaunt revealing coverage in back and body-hugging fabrics for a smooth, line-free look that works great under form-fitting clothes.

Bikini: Narrow sides and a hip-level waistband give this panty a classic, universally flattering shape that’s essential for every wardrobe.

Hipster: An everyday favourite, this low-rise panty features wider sides for minimal to moderate coverage.

Brief: The classic comfort panty, briefs have a higher rise and provide excellent seat coverage.

Boy short: A cheeky take on fitted boxer shorts, these panties deliver a body-hugging fit with a longer leg for extra coverage under skirts and dresses.

High cut: This high-cut panty gives legs a long, lean look while also offering moderate to full coverage in back.

What is your favourite pantie to wear? Leave a comment below …….

    Till next blog.

    Have a FABULOUS Day!

  • Australian Made Natural skincare range Door Of Youth cucumbers Benefits of Cucumber Water

The other day I had a massage and was given cucumber water, was so refreshing. We need to keep our body hydrated and some of us just don’t like water without a flavour. So I have been drinking CUCUMBER Water since my massage and want to share with you the benefits.

    1. 1. It keeps you hydrated.

Your body can’t function properly without water. Most people should aim to drink six to eight glasses of water per day, according to the American Academy of Family Physicians. We know we’re supposed to drink water throughout the day, but sometimes plain water gets boring. Adding cucumber gives it some extra flavour, encouraging you to drink more.

    1. It helps with weight loss.

If you’re trying to lose weight, replacing sugary sodas, sports drinks, and juices with cucumber water can help you cut some serious calories from your diet.

Staying hydrated also helps you feel full. Sometimes your body confuses thirst with hunger. You may feel like you’re hungry, when you’re actually thirsty.

How will you know the difference? Reach for a tall glass of cucumber water first. If your hunger goes away after finishing the drink, you were thirsty. If you’re still hungry, then you know it’s hunger.

    1. It delivers antioxidants.

Antioxidants are substances that help prevent and delay cell damage from oxidative stress caused by free radicals. Oxidative stress can lead to chronic conditions like:

    • cancer
    • diabetes
    • heart disease
    • Alzheimer’s
    • eye degeneration

Research has shown that antioxidants may be able to reverse or stop this damage. This is why you should each fruits and vegetables high in antioxidants. Cucumbers fall into this category. They’re rich in:

    • vitamin C
    • beta carotene
    • manganese
    • molybdenum
    • several flavonoid antioxidants

Would like to hear if you have tried Cucumber Water, leave a comment.

  • Hyaluronic Acid the secret SERUM for Youthful skin

If water or rather moisture to be specific is the magic wand for skin, then Hyaluronic Acid can be the best substitute for the same.

The problems of aging start from the reduction of collagen fibers from the facial muscles that tend to dehydrate the skin and cause wrinkles thereby leading to aging skins. To battle these problems, the skin needs to be rehydrated very well so that the collagen fibers are regained with the help of moisturization of skin, and the wrinkles are reduced as a result of the same.

In fact, today, from very early age itself, the signs of aging start showing up in the skin.

This is because of the adverse effects of pollution, unhealthy food habits and hormonal disturbances that tell upon the skin texture of the facial area mainly. One has to be extra cautious about the lifestyle, and at the same time, there are various serums that one can use for getting back the glow of the skin.

    Hyaluronic Acid

    • Hyaluronic acid is very useful in revitalizing the skin and soothing the same from the itching and other extrinsic agents.
    • Hyaluronic acid is carbohydrates mixed in various proportions with water forming a gel-like substance that is often being used as serums.
    • Hyaluronic acid is used with CIT Collagen Induction Treatments giving amazing results

Look for natural skincare products with Hyaluronic Acid as a key ingredient or a Hyaluronic Acid 1% Solution is what I use and recommend.

  • The salon treatment in your home!

The salon treatment in your home!

Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA’s) have caused a sensation recently as anti-wrinkle active ingredients. They loosen the intercellular ‘glue’, allowing new cells to come through more rapidly and stimulate the formation of collagen and elastin. The visible effect is a skin which looks fresher and younger. AHA acids help remove the surface skin cells, improving skin texture and color.  Skin is left feeling plump and glowing as the new skin layers are revealed.

Glycolic Acid it’s a form of AHA derived Sugar Cane is the natural source. If you want a smooth looking skin use a product that is made from sugar cane, this has the smallest molecule of all the glycolic acids

The salon treatment in your home!

Our facial skin is made up of three layers the epidermis (what we see), dermis (the middle layer) and subcutaneous layer (the third layer). Our skin, due to shedding of skin cells, replaces itself every 7 years. Your skin sheds every 28-45 days, rejuvenating the epidermis and allowing the next generation of skin cells to come forward. What happens is we get a BUILD UP of DEAD SKIN CELLS this will make our skin look tired, uneven tone & fine wrinkles may appear.  With young skin types they get blocked pores that forms pimples and scar tissue.

We shed about 40 lbs of skin in a lifetime! The dead skin needs to be slough off to allow the new cells to the top. If you want a more youthful skin use a product that is rich in Glycolic or Alpha Hydroxy Acid. Naturally sourced Glycolic is made from sugar cane, fruit or milk. Sugarcane has the smallest molecule of all the Alpha Hydroxy Acids which gives it the best permeability of all the AHA’s.

Despite its modern chemical name, the beneficial effects of AHA have been used for centuries. Cleopatra use to have her legendary milk baths and tales of woman using red wine baths to keep their skin youthful.

  • Australian Made Natural skincare range Door Of Youth The Benefits of Skin Needling for YOUTHFUL SKIN!

What Does Dermapen /Skin Needling do for the skin?

Unlike any other treatment before it, Dermapen/skin needling has been designed to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, deep creases, and various types of scarring, including acne scarring. A micro-needling technique both corrects damage and boosts the skin’s production of collagen and elastin. Basically, Dermapen/ skin needling encourages the skin to naturally heal itself, leaving behind the youthful and refreshed appearance every patient wants.

Micro needling involves the use of small needles that puncture the skin in order to stimulate wound healing. The idea of damaging the skin to renew it has been around for decades, used in other ways by various skin treatments. Yet, micro needling has been proven to be a safer and increasingly efficient way to generate real results for healthy and smooth skin. The refined techniques involved with Dermapen treatments make this alternative more and more popular among patients.

Start with a FREE Consultation with Debbie Majella 10 years’ experience as dermal therapist and founder of Door of Youth Skincare Call 0404 528 923

What Are the Major Benefits of Skin Needling?

While the Dermapen begins its work with controlled damage to the skin, that’s not where this treatment stops. While tiny spring-loaded needle tips vibrate against the device, applying light punctures along the treatment area, they are stimulating the healing process and ensuring that the top layer of skin cells will turnover for healthier-looking results. Once the healing has been activated by Dermapen, the final results will begin to take shape. After four to six treatments, your skin will be tightened and rejuvenated, stretch marks will be eliminated, large pores will be decreased in size, various types of scars will improve in appearance, and the signs of alopecia may be minimized.

Before Left / After Right on 60 year old woman.

What Is the Skin Needling Procedure Like?

Dermapen treatments begin with the cleaning and the anesthetization of the treatment area, usually with a topical cream. The Dermapen applicator is then placed against the skin and a qualified therapist will make a stamp-like motion along all of the areas to be treated. This process takes only a few minutes to complete and should not cause any significant discomfort. Afterwards, most patients experience redness and tightness for about one to three days. Home care is vital following your treatment, as well as any other precautionary measures that should be taken to keep your skin healthy and healing.

Who Is a Candidate for Skin Needling?

Dermapen is a safe, effective procedure for patients who have been experiencing troubles with their skin, such as scarring, enlarged pores, and the early signs of aging. The procedure itself is only mildly invasive and not a significant surgery to recover from, so many patients can be safely eligible for Dermapen. On the other hand, prospective patients who are pregnant or who have an active skin infection will likely be asked to postpone their Dermapen treatments. The best way to assess your eligibility is to consult with a licensed aesthetician, who can review your unique situation and advise a course of treatment to resolve your individual concerns.

  • Australian Made Natural skincare range Door Of Youth MY STORY of starting a SKINCARE Company in 2006.

Why I started a Skincare Company in 2006.

As a young 21 year old woman in 1981 doing a diploma in beauty therapy my life was mapped out for me yet I didn’t know where it would lead.

Having the opportunity to be a trainer for an international skincare company when I was 26 years old, I was always curious to why certain ingredients where used in skincare formulations.

It was in 2001 I started reading and researching ingredients used in skincare, the benefits and what would maintain youthful skin. Being a single mum and working fulltime and not having much faith in myself, my research became became a hobby.

One day a light bulb moment I thought “make it happen” you can do it.

Working in Day Spas each day I witnessed how much money woman was spending on skincare to find that product that would give her YOUTHFUL skin & make her feel beautiful. Each day Woman from all ages entered the doors wanting treatments and products to make them feel great.

The skin is the largest living organ and we need to ask ourselves are we feeding or killing our skin. For me it was all about the NATURAL ingredients and what was a woman feeding her skin.

Make a cake, make a skincare product, just do it! I searched and found a company that used my formulations to make the first test batch of skincare. A few changes were made then in it was testing time on real people.

January 2006 I asked a group of women to test the skincare products for 6 months, this gave me time to get the money together to do the first production run for launch January 2007.

I remember that first day, pallets of products arrived at my rented place where the stock was stored in the garage.

What a roller coaster of a ride, made money, spent too much money, labels lifted in production run, labels peel off weeks after arrival. It has been an interesting 10 years.

Many a Woman would have said “To hard and give up” I am grateful that one of my personality traits is persistence.

Let’s jump into 2017 and I am still here, sharing the love of natural/organic skincare, selling Door of Youth online. Have a warehouse now, sending products Australia wide. Loyal subscribers who have been using DOY skincare for 7+ years.

Here are some pictures from where it all started in November 2006.

  • Colour My World

Attending high school my uniform was BROWN Tunic and BEIGE shirt with a tie that if I recall was a lovely shade of BROWN. Is that why I always felt so DULL and DOWN as this uniform was a BIG part of my life for 4 years and many days looking at the DULL boring BROWN Colour.

In my mid 20’s I was introduced to “Colour Imaging” and WOW it was wonderful to discovery how COLOURS make us feel and look FABULOUS.

I then become a trainer for the company that offered “Colour Imaging” and today a service I offered as a Beauty and Image Stylist.

Everyone’s skin is composed of 3 basic pigment:

MELANIN: gives the skin a brownish appearance.

HEMOGLOBIN: a red colour with blue undertones.

CAROTENE: a yellow-orange pigment with golden undertones.

These pigments combine to create the thousands of skin tones which make each of us unique. These tones also help determine the colours appropriate for you.

Every skin contains all of these colours, yet what you will be determining are the dominant tones. When you choose correct colours, look at the undertones of the skin. Your natural skin tones will help to determine what looks best on you.

Colour reflects our skin tone, when we wear the correct colours, our skin looks radiant and our features are highlighted.

Can I tell what colour suits you by just looking at you? NO the reflection in the mirror tells us as you are draped with cool/warm scarves.

What you are looking for when doing the scarf draping is clarity in the skin, lines and imperfections in the skin will be diminish and the eyes will look brighter. You will notice that certain colours lift and enhance the natural beauty and others will make them look years older.

Would have been about 3 years back I did a video for marketing. When I viewed it I was shocked to see how OLD I was looking. I had a black dress on with a beautiful coloured scarf and fabulous earring (love my earrings).

I thought the colours in the scarf where my COOL Colours as my eye was drawn to the turquoise and pink tones. Yet the major base colours where WARM and this reflected on the skin which aged me. TAKE 2 and that scarf is now used when I offer Colour Imaging so ladies can see the impact.

Colours play a big part in our self- esteem. When I am styling ladies one of the questions I ask is “when you are feeling down or that time of the month, what colours do you wear?” Many times they are wearing the wrong colours, as they feel average. This is when we wear our “POP COLOUR” and the correct lipstick too so we can sparkle!

Ladies from the boardroom to the bedroom you want to be noticed. Now there are times when you have to wear a professional style for that corporate meeting, this is when you wear your best lingerie, it will make you feel sexy which will lift your confidence & self-esteem.

As I am in my “Flirty Fifties” and want to feel fabulous all the time, I dress each day to make me feel sexy. Like today in my office writing this blog, I have my black lacy sexy bra and panties as I want to feel fabulous for my day ahead. Also have a dress and my long pearl earrings on.

I am a DIY kind of designer woman. On Sunday I was onto a DIY project at home and had to visit Bunnings. Now what I had on was black short with nice frill on the bottom and striped pink/black top and didn’t want to get changed. So added some pink lip gloss, pick sun hat and pink sandals and off to Bunnings I went J

Microdermabrasion introduced into the beauty services 1990’s. Regeneration confirmed In 2000 Dr Mark Rubin & Dr Steven Greenbaum statement.  For bookings at Designer Studio call 0404 528 923.

The results an increase in the dermal layer, new collagen formation, renewed plumpness of the skin resulting in more youthful appearance.

Positive effects of microdermabrasion fines lines will diminish, acne or scar tissue soften, the epidermis will have a youthful glow & the dermal layer is stimulated which slows the aging.

Improvement can be seen after 1 microdermabrasion, a course of 6 is recommend over 12 weeks and then maintenance is 1 every 6-8 weeks

From the day we are born to the day we die the top layer of our skin dies every 24 days, unlike a snake that sheds is out layer of skin, we get a build up of dead skin cells. This over the years gives us a dull & lifeless looking skin. Fine lines appear, pigmentation darkens, pores more open, scar tissues looks deeper, skin looks dull. We use exfoliations or scrub these product just skim the surface.

The 3 layers of the skin

Epidermis – dermis – subcutaneous layer.

Resurfacing treatments that create trauma to the skin have been replaced with the safe, rejuvenating, non – invasive approach of microdermabrasion & skin needling.

Preserving youth – microdermabrasion has the distinction of bringing new approach to skin care. Its ability to gently yet effectively refine & smooth the skin surface while stimulating the elastin & collagen in the dermal layer in the deeper layers of the skin

One main key to its success is the micro massage action of the treatment. While the focus is on the epidermis, the suction used to prepare the skin and remove the crystals stimulates blood flow with its essential nutrients & oxygen to nourish the skin & fortify the cells.  The flushing movement generated below the surface by the lymph flow provides cleansing & balancing benefits.

All skin types will benefit from microdermabrasion, from 14 yr old with acne to women in her 70’s. Instant results are seen after one treatment; as we have released the dead skin cells the serums & treatments applied with have deeper penetration giving greater benefits.

Doing a facial with out preparing the skin with a micro, the dead skin cells are still there, serums & treatments will only sit on top of the dead skin cells not giving result that women want

What do women want RESULTS & we want it NOW!
