The skin on your neck and chest (décolletage) is one of the first areas to show signs of ageing. Ekk!
A Woman cleansers, tones and nourishes their face, but few do the neck and chest area. If you have neglected this area, it will start to show signs of ageing.
The good news is it is not too late to start nourishing this area and there is serums that target hyperpigmentation (dark spots) and wrinkles, to regain a more youthful looking décolletage!
The skin on the décolletage is different to the skin on your face. This area has no hair follicles, a few oil glands and much thinner.
The collagen in our skin starts to break down, this leads to fine lines, wrinkles and loss of elasticity, resulting in sagging skin. The skin thins, making it more fragile and slower to heal. We also see the signs of photoageing, brown spots, pigmentation and red/broken capillaries.
What to do?
AM: Cleanser from décolletage up, neck and face (the boobies too and rinse with cold water to perk them up).
Then apply Vitamin C Serum then your day cream & sunscreen on the décolletage, as we don’t apply foundation all over this area. I recommend Modere Sunscreen all over the face/ neck/ décolletage area. Here is link to Modere spend over $50 and save $10.
PM: Cleanse skin, then apply Vitamin C serum, Vitamin AB night serum, serums can be layered onto the skin, if skin is on the oily side, stop there. Dry or mature skin add a night oil or cream. I am a believer in oils rich in jojoba oil at night.
Avoid using harsh, active products on the décolletage area, use moisturiser rich in collagen, antioxidants such as vitamin E, C or B3 to protect against free radicals from sun and pollution.
If your skin has severe damage, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) & or Skin Needling can repair and restore the skin to a more even tone.
