• Project the skin with Pro- Aging Skincare

Our skin is a significant part of our overall appearance and plays a crucial role in our identity and how we are perceived by others. Here are several reasons why taking good care of our skin is important, given that it represents us throughout our lives:

    1. First Impressions: The condition of our skin is often one of the first things people notice about us. Healthy, well-cared-for skin can enhance our appearance and make a positive impression.
    2. Protection: The skin acts as a barrier protecting us from environmental hazards such as bacteria, chemicals, and UV radiation. Healthy skin better performs this protective function.
    3. Self-Confidence: Good skin health can contribute to higher self-esteem and confidence. When we feel good about our skin, it can positively impact our interactions and social experiences.
    4. Health Indicator: The skin can reflect overall health. Conditions such as dehydration, nutritional deficiencies, or underlying health issues often manifest in changes to the skin’s appearance.
    5. Aging: While aging is a natural process, good skincare can help manage the visible signs of aging, such as wrinkles, fine lines, and age spots, allowing us to age gracefully.
    6. Comfort: Healthy skin is less prone to problems like dryness, itching, or irritation, contributing to overall physical comfort.

To ensure our skin remains healthy and represents us well, it’s important to adopt a consistent skincare routine that includes cleansing, moisturizing, sun protection, and possibly exfoliation. Additionally, maintaining a balanced diet, staying hydrated, and avoiding harmful habits like smoking can significantly benefit skin health. Regular visits to a beauty therapist for professional advice and treatment are also advisable.

Door of Youth Launch 2 new formulations. CO Q10 Repair Oil & Cosmeceutical Eye Cream

Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) oil, also known as ubiquinone, is a powerful antioxidant that provides numerous benefits for the skin. Here are some key benefits of using CoQ10 oil in skincare:

    1. Anti-Aging Properties: CoQ10 helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by boosting collagen and elastin production. It also aids in repairing and regenerating skin cells, promoting a youthful appearance.
    2. Antioxidant Protection: CoQ10 neutralizes free radicals, which are unstable molecules that can cause oxidative stress and damage to the skin. This helps protect the skin from environmental stressors such as pollution and UV radiation.
    3. Energy Production: CoQ10 is essential for cellular energy production. It supports the mitochondria in skin cells, ensuring they have the energy needed for repair and regeneration, resulting in healthier, more resilient skin.
    4. Improved Skin Elasticity: Regular use of CoQ10 oil can improve skin elasticity, making the skin firmer and more toned. This is particularly beneficial for mature skin that has lost some of its natural elasticity.
    5. Even Skin Tone: CoQ10 helps to fade dark spots and hyperpigmentation, leading to a more even skin tone. It can also reduce the appearance of age spots and sun damage.
    6. Moisturizing and Hydration: CoQ10 oil can help to deeply moisturize the skin, maintaining hydration levels and preventing dryness. This is especially beneficial for those with dry or mature skin.
    7. Reduced Inflammation: The anti-inflammatory properties of CoQ10 can help to soothe and calm irritated skin, reducing redness and inflammation.
    8. Protection Against Sun Damage: While CoQ10 is not a substitute for sunscreen, its antioxidant properties can help protect the skin from UV-induced damage and enhance the skin’s defence mechanisms against the harmful effects of sun exposure.
    9. Vitamin A Concentration: This serum contains 0.2% Vitamin A Palmitate which should be a safe amount to use in a day-wear product as long as no additional retinol products are being used. When vitamin A is present in excess on the skin it can react with sunlight and become photosensitising.  At low levels vitamin A helps maintain a healthy looking complexion.g, anti-inflammatory properties, and its ability to reduce redness and irritation.

  • What skincare treatments is best for your SKIN!

In the year 2024 it is confusing with all the beauty treatments available to maintain or regain a youthful complexion. I entered the beauty profession in 1960 when I attended a Diploma in Beauty Therapy. In the year 2013 I upgrade my skills to a dermal therapist learning the skills to do Microdermabrasion, IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) and Skin Needling.

Unsure what treatment is best for your skin, book a skin consultation at https://selfcareatglenaplin.as.me/skincareconsultation

Microdermabrasion, IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), and Skin Needling—offers unique benefits depending on individual skin concerns and goals.

Here’s a brief overview of each:

    1. Microdermabrasion: This treatment involves exfoliating the skin using a special applicator with an abrasive surface or fine crystals. It helps to remove dead skin cells, improve skin texture, and stimulate collagen production. Microdermabrasion can be effective for addressing concerns such as dullness, fine lines, mild acne scars, and uneven skin tone.

    1. IPL (Intense Pulsed Light): IPL uses broad-spectrum light to target various skin concerns such as sun damage, pigmentation irregularities, redness, and certain vascular lesions. It can also stimulate collagen production and improve overall skin texture. IPL is often chosen for treating sunspots, freckles, rosacea, and unwanted hair.

    1. Skin Needling (Microneedling): This procedure involves using a device with fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin. These micro-injuries stimulate the body’s natural wound healing process, leading to increased collagen and elastin production. Skin needling can improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, stretch marks, and overall skin texture.

The best treatment for you depends on factors such as your specific skin concerns, skin type, medical history, and desired outcomes. Consulting with a qualified skincare professional or dermal skin specialist, is essential to determine the most suitable treatment option for your individual needs. They can assess your skin condition and provide personalized recommendations for achieving optimal results.

Unearthing the Hidden Gems of Self-Care: Embracing Natural Body and Skin Care

In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, self-care often takes a backseat. Yet, it’s crucial to remember that self-care goes beyond spa days and face masks. True self-care involves nurturing your body and skin naturally, and in this article from Kimberly Bryant of Depressed.biz, we will delve into the often-overlooked aspects of self-care that can make a significant difference in your overall well-being.

    Stay Hydrated

Maintaining optimal hydration is essential for healthy skin. Drinking plenty of water keeps your skin supple from within. Hydration is not just about gulping down water; it’s about consistently sipping throughout the day to ensure your skin cells are well-moisturized. Additionally, don’t forget to hydrate your skin externally with a good-quality moisturizer to lock in moisture and prevent dryness. Look for products that contain natural ingredients like aloe vera, shea butter, or hyaluronic acid, which can help replenish and retain your skin’s moisture levels.

    Improve Stress, Improve Your Skin

Chronic stress can wreak havoc on your skin. Take regular breaks at work to alleviate stress. These moments of respite can help you refocus and recharge, allowing you to face your tasks with a clearer mind. Use your breaks wisely: consider a 20-minute power nap, desk organization, or a quick catch-up with a friend to recharge and reduce stress. These small but effective practices can significantly improve your mental and physical well-being, ultimately reflecting on your skin’s health.

    Skip the Harsh Chemicals

Harsh chemicals in skincare products can harm your skin. Opt for natural and organic products from Door of Youth that are gentle and nourishing. The first step to healthier skin is to be a savvy shopper and read product labels carefully. Avoid ingredients like parabens, sulfates, and artificial fragrances, which can strip your skin of its natural oils and lead to irritation. Instead, choose products that harness the power of natural ingredients like chamomile, tea tree oil, or lavender to soothe and protect your skin.

    Eat a Balanced Diet

A healthy diet can work wonders for your skin. Incorporate foods rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and Omega-3 fatty acids into your daily meals. These nutrients are like the building blocks for radiant skin. Fruits, vegetables, fish, and nuts can help promote a radiant complexion from the inside out. Berries are packed with antioxidants that fight free radicals and protect your skin from premature aging. By feeding your body the right nutrients, you’re also feeding your skin’s vitality.

    Use Essential Oils

Natural oils, such as coconut, jojoba, or argan oil, can be your skin’s best friends. These oils can moisturize, soothe, and protect your skin without the use of synthetic ingredients that might cause adverse reactions. Incorporate them into your skincare routine by using them as natural moisturizers, makeup removers, or even as a soothing after-sun treatment. Natural oils are not just great for your skin; they are also eco-friendly and sustainable options.

Striking a Balance Between the Physical and Digital

The constant screen time can affect your skin. Balance your digital life with physical activities and outdoor breaks. Prolonged exposure to screens can lead to eye strain, which in turn can affect the overall health of your skin. Disconnecting from screens, even briefly, can reduce eye strain and improve overall skin health. Take short walks during your breaks, practice eye exercises, and consider investing in blue-light-blocking glasses to protect your eyes and skin from the harmful effects of extended screen time.

    Prioritizing Sleep

Quality sleep is crucial for skin repair and rejuvenation. Aim for 7-9 hours of uninterrupted sleep each night. Your skin does most of its healing and regeneration while you’re asleep, making it a vital component of your self-care routine. Invest in a comfortable mattress and create a calming bedtime routine to ensure a restful night’s sleep. Adequate sleep not only reduces the appearance of dark circles and puffiness but also promotes a healthy, radiant complexion.

Shielding Your Skin from the Sun

Sun exposure can accelerate skin aging and increase the risk of skin cancer. Always apply sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher before stepping outside, even on cloudy days. Sunscreen is your shield against harmful UV rays, which can cause premature aging and damage to your skin cells. In addition to sunscreen, wear protective clothing like wide-brimmed hats and sunglasses when spending time outdoors. These simple measures can help safeguard your skin’s health and preserve its youthful glow.

In the quest for self-care, we often overlook these simple yet essential practices that can transform our skin and overall well-being. By embracing natural body and skin care, staying hydrated, managing stress, and making mindful choices in our daily routines, we can achieve a healthier and more radiant complexion. Remember, self-care isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity that starts with taking care of yourself from the inside out. Your skin, the body’s largest organ, will thank you for these thoughtful and holistic approaches to self-care.

  • Pro-age Cosmetics and Skin Care to Reveal Your Natural Beauty (1)-min Eye Cream: Is It an Essential Product for Your Skincare Routine?

“Eye Cream: Is It an Essential Product for Your Skincare Routine?”

The world of skincare offers a wide array of products, each claiming to be essential for achieving healthy and youthful skin. One product that often sparks debate is eye cream. Is it truly an essential part of your skincare routine, or is it merely an optional luxury? In this blog post, we’ll delve into the world of eye cream to help you understand its benefits, how it differs from regular moisturizers, and whether it should have a place in your daily skincare regimen. Let’s explore whether eye cream is a must-have or merely a nice-to-have in your pursuit of radiant skin.

Eye cream is a skincare product designed specifically for the delicate skin around the eyes. Here are some of the key benefits of using eye cream: Door of Youth Eye Cream is 100% Organic 15gm RRP – $38.95

    1. Moisturization: Eye creams are formulated with ingredients that provide intense hydration to the skin around the eyes. This helps in preventing dryness and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
    2. Reducing Puffiness: Many eye creams contain ingredients like caffeine or chamomile, which can help reduce puffiness and under-eye bags. They do this by constricting blood vessels and reducing fluid buildup.
    3. Minimizing Dark Circles: Some eye creams contain ingredients like vitamin K or niacinamide, which can help to lighten and diminish the appearance of dark circles under the eyes.
    4. Anti-Aging: Eye creams often include antioxidants, peptides, and retinol, which can promote collagen production and firm up the skin, leading to a reduction in the signs of aging, such as crow’s feet.
    5. Protection: Certain eye creams contain SPF (sunscreen) to protect the sensitive skin around the eyes from harmful UV rays, which can accelerate the aging process.
    6. Preventing Dryness and Flakiness: The skin around the eyes is prone to dryness and flakiness. Eye creams provide a barrier to lock in moisture and prevent this issue.
    7. Enhancing Makeup Application: Applying eye cream before makeup can create a smoother canvas for concealer and eyeshadow, helping makeup to go on more evenly.
    8. Self-Care: Incorporating an eye cream into your skincare routine can be a form of self-care and relaxation. The act of gently applying the cream and taking a moment for yourself can be soothing.

Remember that the effectiveness of an eye cream is using it daily and apply small amount, less is more when it comes to nourishing the eye area. Additionally, maintaining a healthy lifestyle with a balanced diet, adequate sleep, and hydration can complement the benefits of eye cream in achieving youthful and refreshed-looking eyes.

When it comes to skincare, vitamin C serum has gained immense popularity for its ability to transform your complexion. In this blog post, we will explore the remarkable benefits of vitamin C serum for your skin, making it a must-have addition to your daily skincare routine.

    1. Powerful Antioxidant Protection: Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant that helps protect your skin from free radical damage caused by environmental stressors like UV rays and pollution. This protection is vital in preventing premature aging and maintaining skin health.
    2. Brightens and Evens Skin Tone: One of the most sought-after benefits of vitamin C serum is its ability to brighten the skin and reduce the appearance of dark spots, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin tone. It inhibits the production of melanin, resulting in a more radiant complexion.
    3. Boosts Collagen Production: Collagen is a protein that gives your skin its structure and firmness. Vitamin C plays a crucial role in collagen synthesis, helping to maintain skin elasticity and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
    4. Hydrates and Moisturizes: Vitamin C serum can help your skin retain moisture, leading to a softer and more supple texture. It enhances the skin’s natural moisture barrier, preventing dehydration.
    5. Reduces the Appearance of Fine Lines and Wrinkles: Regular use of vitamin C serum can visibly reduce the signs of aging, including fine lines and wrinkles. It helps plump the skin and promotes a youthful complexion.
    6. Fades Acne Scars and Blemishes: For those with acne scars or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, vitamin C serum can be a game-changer. It can lighten these blemishes over time, improving overall skin appearance.
    7. Combats Sun Damage: While vitamin C should not replace sunscreen, it does offer an additional layer of protection against UV damage. It can help repair skin that has been exposed to the sun and reduce redness and inflammation.
    8. Suitable for Most Skin Types: Vitamin C serum is generally well-tolerated by various skin types, including sensitive skin. However, it’s essential to choose the right concentration and formulation to suit your individual needs.
    9. Easy to Incorporate: Adding vitamin C serum to your skincare routine is simple. It can be applied after cleansing and before moisturizing, making it a seamless part of your daily regimen.
    10. Long-Lasting Results: Consistent use of vitamin C serum can yield long-lasting results. With time, you’ll notice improvements in your skin’s overall health and appearance.

Conclusion: Vitamin C serum is a versatile and powerful addition to your skincare routine. Its numerous benefits, from protecting against environmental damage to brightening the complexion and reducing signs of aging, make it a must-have product for anyone looking to achieve healthier, more radiant skin. To reap the full benefits, select a high-quality vitamin C serum and incorporate it into your daily skincare regimen. Your skin will thank you with a glowing, youthful appearance.

  • Botanical Exfoliator With AHA & BHA 100ml | Door of Youth my skin looks so dull and pigmentation is getting darker….why

Do you look at your skin and think ‘my skin looks so dull, and pigmentation is getting darker’.

Well, I did yesterday and wish I had taken a before picture. With 42 years in the beauty profession and the founder of Door of Youth Skincare I thought I need a professional peel and microdermabrasion…. I was wrong what I needed was AHA/BHA Botanical Exfoliator from Door of Youth skincare range.

Since I have moved to the Granite Belt Country area, which is 924 metre above sea level. I have noticed the skin on my face and neck looks tanned most of the time even though each day I were sunscreen and a hat when outside.

I have been so active with renovations of Aplin Cottage for ladies to visit for their #selfcare getaways. Which is now ready, and ladies are booking their visits.

After having a good look at my skin in the bathroom mirror, I could see there was a build-up of dead skin cells as the skin looked dull and dry. Well, it is time exfoliate the skin with AHA/BHA exfoliator. I left the product on for 3 minutes (do have the timer on) then rinsed off with a washer.

WOW my skin looked so different, truly the tanned or pigmentated skin look was now lighter and my skin smoother. I know the product is the best yet I was still amazed. WHAT did the product DO? I loosened and buffed away the dull skin cells.

I took a picture and over the coming weeks, will do the exfoliator treatment once a week then show you the after picture.

The double exfoliating action of the botanical exfoliator is achieved through AHA and BHA helping to loosen the bonds between dead epidermal cells which are then sloughed away by the sandalwood and tea tree powder granules. Antioxidant and soothing properties help to protect newly revealed cells leaving the skin with a smooth, refreshed texture and appearance.

Shop online and save time and money for all your skincare products at https://doorofyouth.com/product-category/skin-care/

    Treatment:

After double cleansing pat skin dry and massage a small amount of exfoliator over the entire face, neck, and chest area (also the back of the neck) in gentle circular motions avoiding the lips and eye area. Can be left on the skin for a minute and up to 3 minutes after massaging in to allow the AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) and BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acids) to continue exfoliating.

Use a dampened soft cloth or rinse with tepid to cool water to remove all traces of exfoliating granules and until tingling sensations can no longer be felt. The absorption of active ingredients will be enhanced once dead skin cells are removed. Use once a week or as needed.

*Avoid direct sunlight for minimum 6 hours after use. It is common to experience a tingling sensation and mild flushed appearance after use. Remove product if you experience any discomfort. Do not apply to broken skin.

  • Pro-age Skin Care Cosmetics and Skin Care | Door of Youth Skin looking dull and dry?

Is your skin looking dull, are fine lines appearing, pigmentation appears darker, skin feels dry?

Do I hear a YES to all of the questions? Then your skin has a build-up of dead skin cells and is in need to a beauty product or treatment to rejuvenate the skin.

    Skin cycle:

A skin cycle is the process where a new skin cell is formed at the deepest layer of the epidermis and works its way up to the surface of the skin. At this point the skin cell has matured and ultimately flakes off.  A skin cycle can vary with each individual and is affected by such factors as age, hormones, skin condition/health and stress.

On average a skin cycle is 5-6 weeks. At the age of 19-21, the process can take 14-21 days compared to a middle-aged adult where it is estimated to be 28 days.  As we grow older, this skin cycle slows to about 45-60 days in our 40’s and 50’s. It can further slow to about 60-90 days in our 50’s and 60’s.

    Why is this important?

As we age our skin cycle slows down and dead cells accumulate on the surface of skin causing sagging and fine lines and wrinkles. Bacteria can become trapped causing blemishes and breakouts. Discoloured and irregular cells can also become trapped causing spots and discolouration. So, it is important to choose skin care products that can accelerate your cellular turnover and keep fresh new skin cells flourishing to the surface.

When starting a new skin care regime, it is advised to wait approximately 1-3 skin cycles so 6 – 18 weeks to see improved results. This gives the skin care chance to work on making changes to the cell’s health, condition, vitality, and strength. When the outer surface of skin is made of newer skin cells, skin feels softer and looks more vibrant. By maintaining an average 28-day or faster replacement cycle through healthy lifestyle choices and a regular skin care routine that addresses the basics of skin, your skin will appear smoother and more youthful.

    Patience is the Key

Be patient with new skin care and give it time to do its job. Cosmeceutical skincare is designed to work on the deeper layers of the skin so immediate results are not always seen. Over the counter skin care works on the surface of your skin, so it may immediately feel soft but long-term benefits will not be comparable.

So, what is the best home care?

Door of Youth –  Botanical Exfoliator With AHA & BHA 100ml.

Professional Treatment – Glycolic peel with a microdermabrasion.

Glycolic acid peels slough off the surface and middle layers of skin, removing dead skin cells and debris. Since glycolic acid is made up of small molecules, it readily penetrates skin, removing the lipids that hold dead skin cells together. The percentage of glycolic acid contained in the peel determines how deeply it can penetrate the skin’s layers.

What is microdermabrasion? Microdermabrasion treatments use a minimally abrasive instrument to gently sand your skin, removing the thicker, uneven outer layer, and has many benefits. This type of skin rejuvenation is used to treat light scarring, discoloration, sun damage and stretch marks.

Cleanse – Rinse – Nourish – Repeat. …….. Make love to your skin!!

A simple skincare routine AM & PM the key is making the time, taking the time, and doing it!!

What is the most important AM or PM routine?? BOTH…….

The AM routine, thru the night the skin has produced oils and we perspire (sweat) if going thru menopause (men – o – pause). Also, it is nice to refresh the skin in the AM, apply a Vitamin C serum to brighten, hydrate and firm the skin and always protect the skin with sunscreen for the day.

The PM routine, after the days build-up of oil forming bacteria, dust, pollution and remove the make-up. This is the time to MAKE LOVE TO YOUR SKIN!  Your skin will thank you for taking the time to cleanser, hydrate and nourish at the end of the day.

    AM Routine:

    • Foaming Cleanser – I pump rinse
    • Hydrating Mist
    • Vitamin C Serum
    • Day cream
    • Sun protection

Remember to start your skincare routine from the chest up to the neck and face and back of neck for AM & PM Routine.

PM Routine: Make love to your skin

    • Foaming Cleanse – double cleanse
    • Hydrating Mist
    • Vitamin AB Night Serum
    • Eye Cream
    • Night Cream

Being in the professional beauty arena for 40 + years, I have discovered that women get to an age when they look in the mirror and see the skin has aged. YOU CAN RENEW the skin!!

About every 30+ days the top layer of the skin dies and we get a build-up of dead skin cells. Cleansing and double cleansing with a Lactic Acid based product will assist in buffing away the dead skin cells.

Weekly home facial treatments and use the AHA/BHA Exfoliator followed by the French Green Clay mask. In the morning your skin will be RENEWED.

We get back to the Cleanse – Rinse – Nourish – Repeat daily and weekly home facials.

At the young age of 62, I get compliments on how great my skin is. My answer is “I make love to my skin every day” and I have been doing this since I was 13 years old.

It is time to “make love to your skin” and YOU deserve to have beautiful glowing skin.
